"Toward Efficient Agricultural Systems Under Diversed ASEAN Socio-Environments"

  1. Precision Agriculture
  2. Socio-economics value chains in agricultural system
  3. Smart Technologies in Agricultural System
  4. Sustainable Agricultural System organic farming diversified

Sustainable agriculture is the utilization of renewable resources and unrenewable resources for agricultural production by minimizing negative environmental impacts. The concept of sustainable agriculture is oriented towards three dimensions of sustainability, namely: the sustainability of economic enterprises (profit), the sustainability of human social life (people), and the sustainability of the natural ecology (planet).

The economic dimension is concerned with the concept of the maximization of income streams that can be obtained by at least maintaining the productive assets on which the revenue is generated. The social dimension is a populist orientation, related to the need for social welfare reflected by a harmonious social life (including the prevention of social conflict), preservation of cultural diversity and socio-cultural capital, including the protection of ethnic minorities. The dimensions of the natural environment emphasize the need for the stability of natural ecosystems that include biological life systems and natural matter. This includes maintaining biodiversity and biological texture, soil, water and agro-climate resources, and environmental health and comfort.

These three dimensions affect each other so that all three must be considered in a balanced way. A stable and healthy social system and natural and environmental resources are the basis for economic activity, while economic prosperity is a prerequisite for maintaining socio-cultural stability as well as the preservation of natural resources and the environment.

Through International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSA) 2018 is expected that these three dimensions can affect each other in a balanced way. A stable and healthy social system and natural and environmental resources are the basis for economic activity, while economic prosperity is a prerequisite for maintaining socio-cultural stability as well as the preservation of natural resources and the environment. ICSA 2018 raised the theme "Toward Efficient Agricultural Systems Under Diverse ASEAN Socio-Environments".

The focuses of conference are: 1) Precision Agriculture; 2) Socio-Economics Value Chains in Agricultural System; 3) Smart Technologies in Agricultural System; 4) Sustainable Agricultural System Organic Farming Diversified.
